The most realistic of the led flame bulbs I’ve used (tried about 5 different brands, including the Weiyan® LED Simulated Gas Flame bulb). The “flame” effect looks great, but as with true flames it isn’t very bright. It does provide a lovely, inviting and cozy atmospheric light; looks great for a front porch light. The only drawback is it doesn’t come in the standard bulb size so you have to use an adapter (which is easy enough). The Weiyan bulb is the second most realistic, throws a bit more ambient light, comes in the standard size, but is at least twice the price (mine only lasted 1.5 years so I replaced with this one and really like it).

Brightness was perfect for my apartment balcony. I wanted a dim cafe lighting feel. This was perfect. I also purchased an bulb adapter with this light so it would screw in to my light socket without having to buy a new light. It was very inexpensive and worked perfect.

I continue my search for a flame bulb that is realistic, these are the closest out of 4 that I have tried. From 10′ it does look like a real flame. From 5′ it looks like R2D2 eyes. $160 for 8 bulbs is overkill, not worth the value.

I tried to other lightbulbs that were way to orange and fake and this one is perfect it is a little pricey but worth every penny for the effect that I wanted

Of all the products I looked at, this one based on the videos looked the best. Though it is way to expensive, I was not disappointed. This looks like a real gas flame and based on data on the box, leaving it on 24/7 will cost about $1 a year and the bulb should last about 2 years. I have had it on for the last one month and it continues to look great.

You can definitely see each individual diode but they actually look pretty futuristic & cool up close. From a distance it just looks like a beautiful gas lantern. They’re pricey for bulbs but as long as they last a long time, I’d say they’re worth the cost. Watch the product listing video to see what I mean about the individual diodes if that’s a concern for you. Also, they’re only 1 watt so definitely for looks & ambiance only. The other bulbs on the market tend to look very orange & Halloween-esque which is not what I wanted so I was willing to spend more to get the look I was after. Overall, if you don’t mind spending a bit more for a better look, I’d highly recommend these bulbs.

I would lOVE real gas lanterns but it’s not in the cards. I bought these based on other reviews that they were not as orange as others and how “real” they looked. I have to say I agree and if they last a good while, then they are worth the price. They are “warm” and lean orange at night but at sunset, they are beautiful. Not very bright though if you need the light, but for ambience-they really are a nice effect. I ordered 2 more so both my lanterns have 2 in each. I will probably swap back and forth between regular bulbs and these because I’m not a huge fan of the warmer whites. I hope being LED they last a while.

This is a great alternative to a flame if it is a bit obscured. We installed it as a gas alternative and it worked well. They seem too expensive, but did what we wanted. I hope they last.

I have tried mini flickering balls and this one by far is the most brilliant and realistic that I’ve had the pleasure of using. The flame is visible from 360° and literally looks like a candlelight flickering the only downside is it cannot be flipped upside down but if that doesn’t matter LOL like I said you won’t be disappointed

Needed a very particular shape and base type flame effect bulb for a lamp/sculpture and this is one of the few which met all the requirements.Overall it’s great: Dark housing (most are white) which blends-in, BRIGHT LEDs, reasonably convincing effect.Downsides in my opinion are the clear cover (most are translucent) meaning you see the “guts” of the thing and then also that being relatively small, the number of LEDS is therefore limited meaning the flame effect itself isn’t quite as smooth, etc. as seen in larger bulbs.
